Lantern Hollow

Lantern Hollow is a slow, gentle adventure game and we mean that as a compliment. You explore a fog-wrapped village by tapping around scenes, collecting oddments, and slowly figuring out what happened to the people who lived there.

The puzzles are logical rather than obtuse — no combining random items and hoping. The art and the soft ambient sound do a lot of the heavy lifting, and there's a hint system that never feels like giving up.

It's short, maybe four or five hours, but it doesn't overstay. We finished it in two evenings and felt satisfied rather than cheated.
